Our 50-acre manufacturing campus is headquartered in Calverton, New York, and supported by design and engineering offices in Manhattan, Boston, and Hartford.

Our production capabilities, installation network, and bonding capacity allow Island to complete large-scale, complex projects in a timely, efficient manner.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a Façade Designer II at IEF, you will be accountable for creating both 2D and 3D presentation drawings using AutoCAD, based on a deep understanding of project construction documents such as architectural and structural drawings. The FD2 must be capable of designing within manufacturing and approved vendor constraints while collaborating with the fabrication and field teams to ensure the successful execution of the facade design. In addition, the FD2 will provide guidance and support to Façade Designer 1 (FD1) team members, offering advice and direction as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Must be quite familiar with project construction documents, including architectural drawings, structural drawings and project specifications 

· Must be able to create 2D and 3D presentation drawings using AutoCAD

· Understand and design within manufacturing and approved vendor constraints

· Support Fabrication group and field group 

· Able and willing to guide and advise FD1 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• · Strong verbal and written communication skills 

  · Good understanding of curtain wall and exterior façade systems is preferred  

  · Good understanding materials, both construction materials and materials commonly used in curtain wall  

  · Creative thinking with problem solving abilities

SOFTWARE PROFICENCY:

· Autocad
· Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams)
· Revu Bluebeam
· Navisworks – preferred, not required
· Rhino – Beneficial, not required

Salary Range: $82,000-$95,000
Location: Hartford, CT or Boston, MA
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm - Hybrid
