JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a Façade Designer III at IEF, you will be accountable for assisting the Design Manager in compiling comprehensive shop drawing packages and ensuring the smooth execution of complex facade designs. The FD3 will create both 2D and 3D presentation drawings using AutoCAD, while designing within the constraints of manufacturing and approved vendor processes. This role requires coordination with the design team on embeds and structural connections and the flexibility to attend mock-ups, testing, and job site inspections. The FD3 will also be responsible for preparing project reports for clients and the department and may run project meetings when needed, offering strong support to the Design Manager. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Must be very familiar with project construction documents, including architectural drawings, structural drawings and project specifications  

  • · Must assist the Design Manager in compiling the various shop drawing packages  

  • · Must be able to create 2D and 3D presentation drawings using AutoCAD  

  • · Understand and design within manufacturing and approved vendor constraints. 

  • · Must be able to coordinate embeds and structural connections with the design team  

  • · Flexibility to attend mock-up, testing and job site inspections, including project reports for client and department. 

  • · Is required to support the Design Manager in project meetings and run them if required  

  • · Support Production group and field group  

  • · Willing and able to guide and advise FD1 and FD2 team members  

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • · Strong verbal and written communication skills 

    · Good understanding of curtain wall and exterior façade systems is preferred  

    · Good understanding materials, both construction materials and materials commonly used in curtain wall  

    · Creative thinking with problem solving abilities

SOFTWARE PROFICENCY:

· Autocad
· Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams)
· Revu Bluebeam
· Navisworks – preferred, not required
· Rhino – Beneficial, not required

Salary Range: $95,500-$110-000
Location: Hartford, CT/Boston, MA/NYC
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm - Hybrid
