Large-format thin brick and custom shading devices for university housing.
The Vassar Street project, a major new dormitory in Cambridge, Massachusetts, utilized Island’s crane-set megapanel system, tailored to include shop-installed punched windows and a thin-brick rainscreen. The total facade scope included significant ground-floor storefront/entrance glazing and metal cladding, as well as a unique series of custom-punched sunshade awnings at each facade.
