JOB SUMMARY:

Island Exterior Fabricators, (IEF) is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to play a key role in developing internal applications and digital workflows that integrate across our manufacturing and project management ecosystem. The ideal candidate is highly proficient in C#/.NET, Blazor, TypeScript, Azure, PostgreSQL, and API development, with a strong foundation in cloud-based microservices, DevOps, and automation.

This role focuses on building and optimizing internal business logic workflows, enabling automation and data-driven decision-making across procurement, production tracking, and project management. There is also potential to explore Generative AI and Machine Learning applications for querying production data and optimizing workflows.

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • · Design, develop, and maintain internal web apps and tools for digital delivery, procurement, production, and project tracking.

    · Develop and optimize APIs for seamless data integration between ERP, inventory, and production systems.

    · Build and deploy scalable cloud-based microservices using Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure.

    · Contribute to software architecture decisions to ensure high performance and scalability.

    · Collaborate within Agile teams across engineering, design, production, and project management.

    · Gather user requirements and translate them into software design and user stories.

    · Write and maintain unit tests for code reliability and performance.

    · Implement automated testing (unit, integration, end-to-end).

    · Optimize application performance, including load testing and cloud monitoring.

    · Ensure security best practices for authentication, authorization, and API development (OAuth, OpenID Connect, Azure AD).

    · Conduct code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to performance and security standards.

    · Implement CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployment strategies using DevOps practices.

    · Explore AI and automation opportunities, including Generative AI for production data queries and future machine learning applications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • · Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

    · 5+ years of professional software engineering experience (or 10+ years of equivalent experience in lieu of a degree).

    · Strong proficiency in C#/.NET, with experience in Blazor and TypeScript.

    · Hands-on experience developing APIs and working with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.

    · Experience with Azure cloud services, microservices, and containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes).

    · Familiarity with Git, Agile software development methodologies, and sprint-based workflows.

    · Ability to conduct user interviews, create user stories, and document software architecture and design.

    · Strong problem-solving mindset, with a systems-thinking approach to digital workflows.

    · Backend-focused, but able to pivot to frontend development as needed

Salary Range: $115,000 – 125,000
Location: NYC, Long Island, NY, Boston, Hartford, CT
Schedule: (Hybrid) This hybrid position requires travel expectations to our manufacturing facilities in Calverton, Long Island, NY, and occasional visits to Hartford, Boston, and NYC
