A daynamic facade in the heart of Brooklyn.

For a multipurpose arena serving as the home court for the Brooklyn Nets basketball team, SHoP Architects designed a fluid form sheathed in pre-weathered steel. Island served as completion contractor for the project, fabricating and installing the highly complex steel-framed “oculus” scope and accompanying glazing systems. Due to the anticipated loads imposed by the megapanel and corten steel cladding system, detailed coordination with the steel subcontractor’s Tekla models was required to deliver this scope of work.
